| WEATHER in Alamogordo
Alamogordo is nestled at the foot of the Sacramento Mountains. We're in a desert basin where the humidity is dry and low. We average 11.24 inches of rain annually, with most of that rain falling in the summer months. We have warm days, cool nights and lots of sunshine. Our winters are mild with temperatures averaging a high of 61 and a low of 32. Our summer temperatures can get up there, but it's a "dry heat." Though not much snow falls in Alamogordo (light dustings), Cloudcroft can get several inches and they're only 25 minutes from us. And in a 45 minute drive, you can be at southern New Mexico's premier ski and snowboard resort, Ski Apache in Ruidoso.
